Paul Michalik BA LLB (HONS) BCL (OXON)
Graduated from Victoria University of Wellington and was admitted to the
Bar in 1993. Paul completed a Bachelor of Civil Law at Oxford University in
1996-1997, and taught there for one year before returning to private practice
in New Zealand. Paul joined the firm’s Wellington branch office in March 2010. An accomplished practitioner in civil litigation, commercial, property and insurance litigation, as well as commercial property law, Paul represents prominent developers and commercial property owners in the Wellington region. He has litigated major cases in commercial contract enforcement, liability insurance and property disputes. He enjoys providing strategic input on complex commercial issues and is experienced in all civil courts. Paul is convenor of the NZLS Wellington Branch Courts and Alternative Disputes Resolution Committees and serves as a Costs Assessor. He teaches Insurance Law at Victoria University and is a member of the National Committee of the New Zealand Insurance Law Association. He is on the editorial board of Cross on Evidence New Zealand Edition.
